Joblessness is
the condition of unemployment or not having a job, often referred to as being
"out of work". Not having a job is the most difficult situation of
life for any individual which makes it impossible to meet financial liabilities
and obligations for daily needs and survival of the family.
Joblessness is a major social issue in India. This becomes the
main cause of malnutrition and illness, and major sources of mental stress and depression, which may have
further negative impact on the health.
The rate of unemployment changes with the change in the economy. In the 80s, India was going through a major unemployment and then it little recovered in the 90s. The boom in Indian economy was seen after the advent of BPO(Business Processing Outsourcing) and IT (Information technology).

still not enough to create more employment opportunities.

curriculum is designed only to provide theoretical knowledge neglecting the
practical knowledge that helps to get jobs.

Employment planning – India lacks effective employment planning.
5. Agricultural
Infrastructure – As against expected contribution of employment

is lack of advanced agricultural infrastructure like an effective irrigation

SOLUTIONS FOR UNEMPLOYMENT

– Government has to come with
policies/awareness for control on population

Industrialization – Industrialization is the most effective
solution for unemployment in India. Polices for encouraging more industries in
the country will increase the employment.

Vocational and Technical Training –
The curriculum in colleges and universities should be revised by emphasizing
more on practical training instead of theory.
4.
Encouraging Self-employment –
Self-employment is a very effective solution for unemployment. The government
should encourage more unemployed people to start their business by introducing
free loans and government assistance for funding.
5.
Inviting Big Capital Investments –The
government should make the investment process easy to invite more investors in
India. More companies mean more jobs and a solution for unemployment.
6.
Improved Agriculture Infrastructure –The
government should provide extra facilities and support to the farmers like
irrigation facilities, better farming equipment, training on multiple crop
rotation and crop management. This will help to accelerate crop production and
more employment in the agricultural sector.
7.
Better Policy Implementation –
Though there are many policies implemented to encourage employment, still more
